God of War: Ragnarök's Tyr Might Not Be Done, According to Voice Actor
Mar-29-2023
God of War: Ragnarök has concluded the saga of Kratos, but there may be more in store for the character of Tyr. This is according to Ben Prendergast, the actor behind the Norse god, who recently spoke at PAX East about the character's potential beyond the game's conclusion.
As the God of War series has gone through its different iterations, Tyr has always been a central figure in the story, often playing a key role in the protagonist's journey. In Ragnarök, Tyr is one of the few gods still alive by the game's conclusion, and his story arc is more fleshed out and explored than ever before. Prendergast has stated that there is more to come for the character, hinting that his journey in the God of War series may not be made yet.
Tyr's role in the series has often been that of a mentor and ally to Kratos, and his presence in Ragnarök was no different. As a god of justice and law, he was key to the development of Kratos' character and his journey toward redemption. It would be interesting to see if his story arc is explored further in post-Ragnarök games or if he will make an appearance in the inevitable sequel.
Prendergast also spoke about his experience playing Tyr, and his enthusiasm for the character was clearly evident. He said that he was excited to have the opportunity to explore the character further, and he hopes that Tyr will remain an important part of the franchise.
God of War: Ragnarök marked the end of an era for Kratos and the beginning of a new one for the franchise. With Tyr's story still yet to be explored, we can only hope that the character will make an appearance in the inevitable sequel. What do you think? Leave a comment below and let us know!
