Mastering the Challenge: A Comprehensive Guide to Beating the Spurned Progeny in Lords of the Fallen

Upon your first encounter with the Spurned Progeny, it is paramount to remember that this daunting adversary can pack an absolute whack with its attacks. Seeing such a massive being on the battlefield can induce feelings of intimidation, but fear not. Recognizing the nature of its attacks can make all the difference. Pay close attention to its behaviors, as it has the potential to one-shot any unprepared players. Its deadliest attacks are the three-hit ground pound and the sit-down slam, both of which can prove fatal instantly.

Assessing the Battlefield and Preparing for the Fight

Assessing the Battlefield and Preparing for the Fight

Phase one of the fight commences on the grand arena's main floor, but don't let this calm surrounding fool you. Direct eye contact or locking in the boss isn't recommended in this phase. Keep your instincts sharp and your willingness to dodge even sharper. Granted, the attacks of the Spurned Progeny are slow and highly telegraphed, but they leave a substantial impact upon connection. Timing your dodges to avoid getting hit and waiting for the right opportunities can significantly improve your survival.

Moving to Phase Two: Adapting and Overcoming

When the boss's health decreases to about 80%, things start heating up – literally. The Spurned Progeny covers the entire floor of the arena with lava. This signals the start of the second phase and the relocation of the fight to the battlements. Here, the boss's moves become even more predictable, yet fatal if not handled carefully. Particularly perilous are its mouth-arm jabs and slam attacks. Juxtaposed with its slow speed, precise timing can be your best possible weapon.

Recognizing and Responding to Fireball Attacks

Recognizing and Responding to Fireball Attacks

As you further go into the second phase, be wary of the colossal fireball that the Spurned Progeny begins to charge. Quick reflexes are needed here to find cover behind any of the walls in the paths connecting battlement platforms. After the fireball explosion, resume your battle. Any shift in platforms should only take place when a fireball starts to charge on top of your platform, indicating a lava overflow.

Persevere to the End

Being patient in your dodges, understanding the timing, and maintaining a safe distance from the Spurned Progeny can increase your efficiency drastically in this phase. Once its health is down to 25%, expect more frequent fireball attacks. After each fireball explosion, the boss kneels while violently choking, providing you with perfect moments to launch an attack.
Remember not to enter the Umbral before entering the second phase to retain an extra life in case a strong attack finds you. Make sure your weapons are well-upgraded. As the floor cools down and the lava subsides, you get a chance to give your fight a fitting end.

May this guide serve you well in your trials against the Spurned Progeny. Ebbs and flows are part of battles. Use them wholly to understand your foe and react intelligently. Here's to your victory in the lairs of Lords of the Fallen!
